Word travels fast!
I'm not even sure which Rachel this is! I have two students, Rachel F. and Rachel L. but I've only had them for 4 weeks. I haven't had any other Rachels. So is this one of my new students or a friend of a student who knows me or a total stranger or . . . . and how did she already find out about this blog?! Inquiring minds want to know! ;-)
So there you go, Rachel. Consider it done. Your request has been honored.

Proof of Awesomeness
This message has a story behind it that I wrote about in my blog about life in Maine. Well, I don't think I mentioned that after the dance I got to meet Katie Rose's parents. It was an honor for me, I didn't know it was a test. Glad I passed. ;-)

3/18/08 A Day That Will Live In Infamy
Today we had a special visitor in our department meeting, Mike (the tenured professor who is on leave of absence for 2 years with a possible one year extension whose position I'm filling as a visiting professor for 2 years with a possible one year extension). He announced that he's resigning his position as of June 1, 2008 which means there will be an open tenure-track position. The department will do a formal national search in the fall. Suddenly my timeline is drastically altered. My visiting professor gig is up earlier than I had planned. I wanted to be a Scarlet O'Hara about it ("I'll think about that . . . tomorrow") but now I have to decide . . . do I want to stay in Maine or move on?

3/08 Sharing the Love
Beth is my fellow Practicum team teacher whose office is next door to mine. I think this is Muffin Love.

2/08 To Obie Dude from Grass Hopper
Obi-Wan Kenobi meets Master Po's Grasshopper (from Kung Fu days). From Dr. Sue about her class's wiki textbook that I've been helping her with.

12/07 From "Good Luck" Heidi
Heidi works on the other side of the Education Center and is one of my biggest window fans. When she announced her resignation to take a job that was closer to home and had hours the same as her kids' school schedule, I was elated for her but very say for me. I made a "Good Luck Heidi" window and this was her farewell message.

12/07 Merry Christmas from Dan

12/07 Good Holiday
Jamye was in Practicum spring 2007. Look at all the fun people that stopped by when I wasn't there to see them! :-(

11/07 Danielle and the Kids
From Danielle who was in Practicum in spring 2007. I'm sorry I missed her and her two precious ones (who starred in her digital stories that she made for my class).

10/07 The Ultimate Compliment
So if you came to work one day and found this message on your wipe-off board on your door, wouldn't it make your day??
I kept it on the board as long as I could but finally the day came when I needed to wipe it off. I took a picture of it to make it last forever. But then what do you do with that photo? Over time, more fun messages appeared on my door until I realized this was an art form/communication form of its own and I just kept taking photos of the "phun ones". But then what do you with all those photos? At last it dawned on me what I could do with them.
I missed some good ones from spring 2007 semester and over the summer of 2007, but I won't miss any more good ones! They'll be captured here in this blog for me to enjoy and anyone else who wants to enjoy them.Posted by TexasTheresa at 12:13 AM 0 comments
